It’s amazing to watch their work come to life and even better when they take the time to chat with you about their process, inspiration, or the stories behind their art. It feels so personal and welcoming, like you’re getting a peek into their world.

One artist, upon hearing about my child’s dream of becoming an artist, immediately paused their own work to encourage her. They pulled out a piece of paper and began teaching her step by step how to draw, patiently guiding her through each stroke and explaining the techniques. Together, they created a piece of art, turning the moment into a true inspiration for her creative journey. (This kind and talented artist was Adam Land, a Houston-based abstract artist, who explores the delicate interplay between the tangible and intangible. Another artist was working on a stunning 3D painting of a rose just as it touches water, using materials as intricate as those for gilding the edges of the rose itself. Right there, they took those same materials and crafted a bird on my daughter’s hand, which, by chance, ended up looking like the Chinese character for “person.” It was such a beautiful and unexpected creation.
