Explore the night sky on the upper deck of the Observatory with constellation laser tours, a combination of deck and dome telescopes, and captured camera feeds. Amateur and staff astronomers will guide you on your journey through the heavens, whether you are looking at planets in our solar system or deep sky objects out in space. Don’t miss our Milky Way Exhibit area inside, featuring the moon, meteorites and more!

Explore a world of wonder—spanning culture, history, space, wildlife, and the sciences at HMNS.

If the skies are overcast, we will present our Cloudy Night Program, featuring previously acquired images, telescope dome tours and talks by expert docents. We only cancel for rain, and will contact ticketholders by email and phone with next steps.

1. George Observatory is located in Brazos Bend State Park and requires a Park Day Pass to get to the Observatory. (price:$7 per person for 13yrs and above)https://tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/brazos-bend

2. Observatory tickets are offered on a timed and limited capacity basis, and must be purchased in advance.

3. To cancel your tickets in advance and receive a refund, please call the Advance Sales line at 713-639-4629 no later than 5:00 pm on the date of your tickets. After the event date, tickets are non-refundable.

4. In the event of overcast skies, they will feature special “Cloudy Night” programming, featuring spectacular images, an up-close look at the 36” research telescope, moon rocks, meteorites & more.

5. Observatory visitors must park in the Nature Center lot on the main road and walk across the road to the trail, which is illuminated and stretches 800 yards, leading to the Observatory.
