Cool off and get creative at the Moody’s annual Summer Jam. Enjoy family-friendly art activities, galleries to explore, an indoor farmer’s market, local food vendors, and more. Co-Presented with Informal Grub, guests will have access to the exhibitions of Masako Miki and Nick Vaughan and Jake Margolin. In addition to a scavenger hunt, face painting, and bubble play.
1. $6 parking in West Lot 4 will be available for the duration of the event.
2. The permanent acquisition of artworks, the Rice Public Art Collection, reaches across the entire Rice campus and has been praised in Art & Object as one of the “most rigorous world-class permanent collections of public art in the country.” It includes an iconic James Turrell Skyspace, important sculptures by Michael Heizer, Shirazeh Houshiary, Beverly Pepper, Ursula Von Rydingsgard, and Mark di Suvero, a Sol Lewitt wall drawing, and two-dimensional works by Carmen Herrera, Dorothy Hood, Charles Gaines and Leo Villareal, among many others.
