Mid-Autumn Family Day

FREE and open to the public; registration is required for building entry.
During September’s Super Saturday family event, explore the traditions and meaning behind the Mid-Autumn Festival and look forward to a story time, all-ages crafts celebrating Mid-Autumn traditions (including paper lanterns, modeling clay mooncakes, paper rabbit puppets, and more inspired by the Jade Rabbit folktale), and a scavenger hunt through the Center.
Take in vibrant performances, engage in workshops, learn about the legend of the moon goddess Chang’e, and enjoy a lively Techno Prince dance that blends traditional and modern elements. The performance will conclude with a theatrical play depicting the mythical origins of the Mid-Autumn Festival, presented by the Houston Hanfu Association.
Parking and Transportation
Paid parking ($10) is available in our lot across Southmore Boulevard. Entrances are located on Caroline Street and Austin Street. Bicycle racks are available in our parking lot for no cost.
Public transit is also available: Asia Society Texas is a five-minute walk from the Museum District METRO Rail Station (Red Line).
