Magical Winter Lights is one of Texas’s largest lantern festivals, combining traditional lantern art with modern lighting technology to create a colorful and enchanting nighttime experience. The event is divided into different themed sections, including Fairy Tale Forest, Christmas Village, Dinosaur Adventures, and landmarks from around the world, each filled with creativity and surprises.
Visitors can marvel at traditional hand-crafted lanterns, enjoy themed rides, and experience interactive performances along with a variety of unique food options. This magical festival is perfect for all ages, making it an ideal holiday outing for families and friends.

This marks my fourth visit to this mesmerizing lantern festival, and each year it surprises me with new locations, unique themes, and delightful discoveries. As the largest lantern festival in Houston, Magical Winter Lights continues to enchant visitors with its breathtaking displays and rich cultural charm.
Now, let me guide you through the highlights and magic of this spectacular event!

Experience the Postage Stamp of the World, where stamps capture the essence of nations, from history to daily life. Admire the iconic Eiffel Tower in Love in Paris, symbolizing French courage and romance. Discover your zodiac animal and its significance in the Chinese Zodiac, or leave your wishes at the Wishing Area, inviting dreams to come true. Enjoy the lively Dragon and Lion Dance, symbols of prosperity, and witness the arrival of spring in the Boom in Spring display, inspired by Zhu Xi’s famous poem. Lastly, marvel at the craftsmanship of Ancient Chinese Architecture, a testament to centuries of history and tradition.
Step into the world of dinosaurs, where ancient history meets futuristic technology. In The Dino Tent, experience a powerful visual journey that blends the past with the future. Outdoors, The Kingdom of Dino brings the early Jurassic period to life, showcasing vibrant dinosaurs in lush jungles and volcanic landscapes. This colorful display immerses you in a time when dinosaurs ruled the Earth as the planet’s most dominant species.
Dive into the vast, mysterious ocean to uncover its hidden wonders and the countless marine creatures waiting to be discovered. Experience the unparalleled charm of traditional Chinese acrobatics! Performances feature awe-inspiring acts such as balance skills, human pyramids, and diabolo juggling.

- Sunday to Thursday: 6:30 PM & 8:30 PM
- Friday and Saturday: 7:00 PM & 9:00 PM
Note: On particularly busy evenings, a third performance may be added. Please listen for announcements within the park for updated times.
In the carnival area of the Magical Winter Lights, you can enjoy thrilling rides like the carousel, spinning fast rides, and the 87-foot Ferris wheel. Challenge yourself with fun games and win exciting prizes.
Note: Carnival tickets are not included in the admission. You’ll need to purchase a separate $30 wristband for unlimited carnival rides or individual ride tickets.
